Q: How is the cracking of the putty layer caused and how should it be dealt with?
Answer: There are many reasons for putty cracking, including external and internal reasons. Externally, dry and wet changes form shrinkage cracks; temperature changes and thermal expansion and cold contraction cause temperature cracks; wall structural deformation and static and dynamic loads cause structural cracks. Internally, many factors such as product quality, construction technology (scraping thickness, interface treatment), and maintenance methods may cause the putty to crack.
Solution:
a. Small cracks caused by dry and wet, temperature changes or excessive scraping: it can be polished and scraped after painting the wall, pay attention to control the thickness;
b. For large cracks caused by excessive scraping, remove the large cracks and paint the walls, and then apply putty;
c. For the large cracks caused by the cracking of the wall, after eradication, paint the wall, paste the mesh cloth, and then carry out the putty scraping. If the wall cracks are large, the wall should be treated;
